Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Your Dance Card (yourdancecard.com), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service.

Your Dance Card is operated by Fifty-Fifty: Partners in Dance, LLC.

Our Service

Your Dance Card is a free, community-driven calendar of social partner dance events in Vermont. We aggregate and display information about public dance events to help dancers discover events and help organizers reach their audience.

What You Can Do

• Browse events without creating an account
• Submit events to the calendar (no account required)
• Create an optional account for managing your submissions
• Share event listings with others

What You Cannot Do

• Submit false, misleading, or inaccurate event information
• Submit spam, malicious links, or harmful content
• Use the service to harass, stalk, or harm others
• Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
• Use automated tools to scrape or harvest data beyond normal browsing
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations

Event Submissions

Your Responsibilities

When you submit an event, you represent that:

• The information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge
• You either:
  • Have the right to share the information you're submitting, or
  • Are sharing information that is already publicly listed elsewhere and are not adding extra private details beyond what is already public
• For residential events:
  • You are the host/organizer or have explicit permission to share the full address, or
  • You are submitting a publicly-listed event and only include information that is already public, and you understand that we may redact the address and may verify the listing before publishing
• You are not submitting additional private information (like someone else's home address, phone number, or personal contact details) beyond what they have already made public, or without their permission

We may redact or withhold residential addresses, or require verification, even when events are publicly listed elsewhere. See our Privacy Policy and Listing Policy for details on how we handle home-based events.

Our Rights

We reserve the right to:

• Review all submissions before publishing
• Edit submissions for clarity, accuracy, or formatting
• Reject submissions that don't meet our guidelines
• Remove events at any time for any reason
• Contact you for clarification or additional information

Public Information

Event listings are public by default. Once published, event information may be:

• Visible to anyone who visits the site
• Indexed by search engines
• Shared via links or social media

User Accounts

Account Creation

Creating an account is optional. You do not need an account to:

• Browse events
• Submit events
• Contact event organizers

Accounts are primarily for:

• Managing your event submissions
• Claiming events you organize
• Future features (we'll notify you if account functionality expands)

Account Responsibilities

If you create an account:

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password
• You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
• You must provide accurate and current information
• You must not share your account with others

Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time by contacting privacy@yourdancecard.com.

We may suspend or terminate your account if:

• You violate these Terms of Use
• You engage in abusive or harmful behavior
• Your account is inactive for an extended period (we'll notify you first)
• We're required to do so by law

Intellectual Property

Our Content

The Your Dance Card website, design, and original content are owned by Fifty-Fifty: Partners in Dance, LLC and are protected by copyright and trademark laws.

Event Information

Event information submitted by users or aggregated from public sources remains the intellectual property of the event organizers. By submitting information to Your Dance Card, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and promote that information for the purpose of operating the calendar.

User Submissions

By submitting content to Your Dance Card (event descriptions, comments, etc.), you grant us the right to use, modify, and display that content as needed to operate the service. You retain ownership of your content.

Disclaimers

Accuracy of Information

We strive to maintain accurate event information, but we cannot guarantee that all information is current, complete, or error-free. Event details may change without notice. Always verify critical information (date, time, cost, etc.) with the event organizer before attending.

Third-Party Links

Our service may contain links to third-party websites or resources. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of these external sites.

No Warranties

Your Dance Card is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

• Implied warranties of merchantability
• Fitness for a particular purpose
• Non-infringement
• Accuracy, reliability, or availability

We do not warrant that:

• The service will be uninterrupted or error-free
• Defects will be corrected
• The service is free of viruses or harmful components

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Fifty-Fifty: Partners in Dance, LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

• Loss of profits or revenue
• Loss of data
• Loss of business opportunities
• Personal injury or property damage

This limitation applies even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

In jurisdictions that do not allow the limitation of liability, our liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Fifty-Fifty: Partners in Dance, LLC, its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:

• Your use of the service
• Your violation of these Terms of Use
• Your violation of any rights of another party
• Content you submit to the service

Modifications to Service and Terms

Service Changes

We reserve the right to:

• Modify or discontinue the service at any time
• Change features or functionality
• Impose limits on certain features
• Restrict access to parts of the service

We'll provide reasonable notice of material changes when possible.

Terms Changes

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. When we do:

• We'll update the "Last Updated" date at the top
• For minor changes: no special notification
• For material changes: we'll notify you via email or a prominent site notice

Continued use of the service after changes means you accept the updated terms.

Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of the State of Vermont, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the service shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Vermont.

Miscellaneous

Entire Agreement

These Terms of Use, together with our Privacy Policy and Listing Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Fifty-Fifty: Partners in Dance, LLC regarding the service.

Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.
